Order a Repeat Prescription

Your Repeat Medication

The Vicarage Lane Surgery recommends that you nominate a chemist of your choice to which your prescription can be sent to, electronically. If you have not done this, kindly please do so at your earliest. This would save you time, as could then proceed directly to your chemist of choice to collect your medication (2 working days after making your request).  You can advise us by email of your preferred/nominated chemist when you place your medication request or change your preference using the NHS App.

Please Note: For safety reasons we cannot accept telephone requests for your repeat prescriptions.

Please request your repeat prescription at least 48 working hours to give the surgery time to prepare it for you.

In person

You can order in person by returning the right-hand half of a previous prescription for the required medications, or by submitting a handwritten request at the front desk.

By post

You can post your prescription slip or written request to us at the Practice. You must include a stamped addressed envelope for return by post if you will not be able to pick up your prescription from the Surgery (please allow extra time for any possible delays with the postal service).

Pharmacy ordering/collection service

Pharmacies offer a prescription collection service from our Practice. They can also order your medication on your behalf. This saves you time and unnecessary visits to the Practice. Please contact the Pharmacy of your choice for more information if you wish to use this service.

Patient Access

You can also order your repeat prescription via the Patient Access website: www.patientaccess.com or via their App. Please ask our front house team for assistance with this.

Hospital requests

When you are discharged from Hospital you should normally receive five days supply of medication.

On receipt of your medication requirements, which will be issued to you by the Hospital, please visit the Surgery to provide them with this information, or post the details via S.A.E, before your supply of medication has run out.

Hospital requests for change of medication will be checked by the GP first, and if necessary we will provide you with a prescription.

Medication reviews

The Clinical Pharmacist at the Surgery will regularly review the medication you are taking.
